Páulus’s Letter to the ’Epheçíym

Chapter 1
From: - To:
1. ¶ Páulus, delegate of Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed through Yâ-hwéh’s will, to the pure ones who are in ”Éphesos, and are believers in the Anointed Yâhuwshúa`.
2. Favor unto you and peace, from Yâ-hwéh: our Father, and the Sovereign Yâhuwshúa`, the Anointed.
3. ¶ Blessed is He, Who is the Mighty One and Father of our Sovereign Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed, Who blessed us in every spiritual blessing within the highest heavens within the Anointed,
“B-Rë’shíyth bârâ´” [Genesis 1: 1[E1] ]
(“Beforehand He chose[E2] ”) us, within Him [“Within the First He chose…”], before the foundation of the world, for us to be pure and unblemished before His sight;
By affectionate love
5. Having preappointed us unto adoption, through Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed, for Himself (according to the good pleasure of His will),
6. For the praise of the honor of His favor, that He shed forth on us by the hand of His[E3] Beloved,
7. By Whom we possess the full ransoming through His blood: the release from offenses, according to the riches of His favor –
8. Which He caused to abound for us in all wisdom and intelligence,
9. Having made known to us the secret of His will (according to His good pleasure), which He proposed “beforehand” to accomplish[E4] within Himself …
10. …at the administration of the fulfilling of the seasons: to “make all things fresh” [Disclosure 21: 5] from the beginning[E5] within the Anointed: the things in both “the heavens and the earth”;
11. Even “within Him”, in Whom we were “chosen[E6] ”, being preappointed according to the predetermination of the One, Who is effective in all things according to the counsel of His will:
12. For us to be for the praise of His Honor – we who have first hoped in the Deliverer –
13. By Whom also ye have heeded the Word of the Truth [Yâhuwshúa` = Yâ-hwéh is deliverance/wealth], the glad tidings of your salvation, by Whom also, having believed Him, ye were sealed with the promise of the Spirit of the Pure One –
14. Which is the pledge of our inheritance for the ransoming of His acquisitions[E7] , for the praise of His honor!
Wisdom and revelation given by acknowledging Yâhuwshúa`
15. ¶ Due to this, look! I also, having heard of the persuasion in Yâ-hwéh Yâhuwshúa` and the affectionate love among you, which belongs to all the pure ones, [Yâhuwchânâ´n’s Glad Tidings 13: 35]
16. I do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
18. And when the source of vision[E8] of your heart is thus enlightened [MattithYâ´huw 6: 22-23], for you to see what is the hope: of His calling, and what are the riches of the honor of His inheritance: within the pure ones,
19. And what the surpassing “Greatness” [Yâhuwchânâ´n’s Glad Tidings 14: 28] of His Force is, for us who believe, according to the effectiveness of the vigor of His Strength
20. which It wrought within the Anointed, when It raised Him from the dead, and when It seated Him at Its right-hand side in the highest heavens, [Psalms 110: 1]
21. Above every principality and authority and power and sovereignty and every name named, not only within this age, rather also within the coming age;
22. And It
“put all things under His feet” [Psalms 8: 6]
and granted Him to be head over all things for the Convocation,
23. Which is His body, the completion of the One, Who fulfills everything in all –
Chapter 2
1. Even you, being dead to the offenses and sins
2. in which ye once walked, according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of this spirit: of the one who now works in the sons of rebellious disbelief, [the anointed falsifier, 1 Yâhuwchânâ´n 4: 3]
3. Among whom also we all were overturned once in the longings of our flesh, performing the wishes of the flesh and of the imaginations, so we were, by instinct, sons[E9] of the wrath as also the rest…
4. But Yâ-hwéh, being rich in mercy, due to His great affectionate love with which He loved us –
5. Though we being dead in offenses, He revived us conjointly with the Anointed (and by favor ye shall be[E10] saved,
6. And aroused together, and seated together among those of the highest heavens[E11] , within the Anointed Yâhuwshúa` [Chanówkh 39: 1-4, To the `Ivríym 12: 23]),
7. In order that He might demonstrate in the coming ages, the exceeding riches of His favor, even by His kindness upon us within the Anointed Yâhuwshúa`!
8. For by favor ye will have been saved through the persuasion, yet this is not from yourselves, the gift is Yâ-hwéh’s;
9. Not from works [Yshá`Yâhuw 17: 7-8], in order that no one shall boast. [Yshá`Yâhuw 2: 11, 17]
10. For we are His own creation, created within the Anointed Yâhuwshúa` for good works, for which Yâ-hwéh prepared the Way in order that we should walk in them.
Peace and reconciliation in Him to the heathen masses
11. ¶ Wherefore remember that ye were once, according to the flesh, the Gowyím (heathen masses), those who are called “Uncircumcision” by the ones in the flesh, called “Circumcision” made by human hands –
12. And that ye, at that time, were apart from the Anointed, nonparticipants of the community of Yisrâ’Ë´l, and aliens to the covenant of the promise: not having a hope, and without a mighty one in the world!
13. But now within Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed, ye, those who once were “far” are become “near” by the blood of the Anointed! [references to Yshá`Yâhuw 57: 17-19]
14. For He is our “Shâlówm (peace, reconciliation, completeness)”, Who made them both one, and loosed the hedge which had partitioned their midst,
15. And when He rendered the enmity idle by His flesh: even the Law of the commandments by His Law[E12] [To the Romans 7: 6], that He might create of the two within Himself, into one new Human – He made peace;
16. So He might reconcile those both in one Body to the Mighty One, even through the gallows cross, when He had slain the enmity by it;
17. And when He came, He announced the glad tidings:
“‘…Shâlówm (peace, reconciliation, completeness) is for the far ones, and shâlówm (peace, reconciliation, completeness) is for the near,’ says Yâ-hwéh, ‘So I shall heal[E13] him.’” [Yshá`Yâhuw 57: 19]
18. Because through Him we, both of those, have the access in one Spirit to the Father.
19. So then ye are no longer foreigners and alien residents, rather sons of the same city of the pure ones, and sons of the house of the Mighty One [Uw-Vnë´y[E14] Bë´yth-’Ël],
20. And ye are being built up upon the foundation of the delegates and predicators, Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed Himself being the Chief Cornerstone, [Psalms 118: 22[E15] ]
21. Within Whom the whole building is constructed and grows into a pure Temple-building in Yâ-hwéh,
22. By Whom ye also are being constructed, for a habitation of the Mighty Ones by the Spirit.
Chapter 3
The Secret of the Anointed:
1. ¶ For this cause, I Páulus, am a prisoner because of the Anointed Yâhuwshúa` for the sake of you heathen masses,
2. If indeed ye heard of the administration of the favor of Yâ-hwéh which was given to me for you,
3. That, by a disclosure, He made the secret known to me [To the Romans 11: 25], according as I wrote briefly before,
4. Towards which ye are able, reading it, to perceive my understanding that is about the secret of the Anointed,
5. Which in other generations was not made known to the sons of ’Âthâ´m, as it has been disclosed to His pure delegates and predicators by the Spirit:
6. That the heathen masses are to be co-heirs and co-participants of His body, and of His promise to the Anointed, through the glad tidings
7. of which I became attendant, according to the gift of the favor of Yâ-hwéh granted to me, according to the working of His Force.
8. For me, for the one less than the least of all pure ones was this favor granted: to announce the glad tidings to the heathen masses – the unsearchable riches of the Anointed,
9. And to enlighten all how to fellowship in the secret[E16] , which has been hidden from the ages within Yâ-hwéh, Who created all things, [access to wisdom 1: 17]
10. In order that through the Convocation, the multivariate wisdom of Yâ-hwéh might now be made known to the chiefs and to the authorities in the higher heavens
11. According to the Proposition of the Ages [1: 1-14], which He has performed within the Anointed Yâhuwshúa` our Sovereign;
12. In Whom we maintain all outspokenness, and the reliable access [to the unsearchable treasures of wisdom of Yâ-hwéh], through the trusting of Him.
Affectionate love strengthens and lets us grow in Him
13. ¶ Wherefore, I ask to not weaken during the oppression against me concerning you, which is your honor.
14. For this cause I bow my knees towards the Father of our Sovereign Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed,
15. From Whom every kindred in the heavens and on the earth is named,
16. In order that He may grant you, according to the riches of His honor, to be strengthened with Force through His Spirit, so that in the inner human,
17. The Anointed will dwell in your hearts through the persuasion, [18.] being rooted and founded in affectionate love*[E17] ,
18. In order that ye may have full strength to comprehend, together with all of the pure ones, what its width and length and depth and height is,
19. To both know the excellence of the affectionate love of the Anointed, and in order that ye may be complete in all the fullness of Yâ-hwéh!
20. But for He Who is empowered over all things by His unlimited Power to perform exceedingly above what we ask or think, according to His Force which works in us,
21. For Him is the praise in His Convocation within the Anointed Yâhuwshúa` for all of the generations of the age for the ages. ’Âmë´n.
Chapter 4
The Convocation urged to keep union (’echâ´th) by peace and love
1. ¶ Therefore I implore you – I, the prisoner in Yâ-hwéh – to walk about worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
2. With all modesty and gentle humility, with patience, supporting one another by affectionate love,
3. And hastening diligently to keep the unity of the Spirit by the bond of peace:
4. One body and one Spirit, just as also ye shall[E18] be called within a One, the hope of your calling [see Tâ’ówm 75],
5. Since “Yâ-hwéh is One” [Deuteronomy 6: 4], also persuasion is One, and immersion is One,
6. And One is the Mighty One and Father of all, He Who is over all, and through all, and in us all. [A response to Mal’âkhíy 2: 10[E19] ]
The gifts the Anointed gave, our Union received within Him
7. ¶ So union to each of us was granted, the favor according to the measure of the gift of the Anointed One.
8. Which is why He says:
“[Why do you rugged mountains gaze in envy at the mountain the Mighty Ones chooses for Himself to sit, indeed where Yâ-hwéh shall lodge forever? The chariots of the Mighty Ones are multitudes of thousands of tens of thousands – the Sovereign of Çiynáy is in the pure place! You] having ascended to the height[E20] , You captured captivity, and received gifts in humans[E21] , [even also to abide in rebellious[E22] ones, Yâ´hu the Mighty Ones.” (Psalms 68: 16-18)]
9. But how is it that He ascended [to Mount Tsiyyówn], unless that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
10. He that descended is the same Who also ascended above all the heavens, in order that He might fulfill all things;
11. So He gifted unto some to be delegates, and some predicators, and some proclaimers of the glad tidings, and some pastors and some instructors,
12. Towards the complete equipment of the pure ones for service work, for the building up of the body of the Anointed,
13. Until all those may arrive into the unity of the persuasion and of the acknowledgement of the Son of the Mighty One; for becoming a full-grown man, unto the measure of stature of the completeness of the Anointed:
14. In order that we may no longer be infants being tossed and carried around by every wind of the random teachings of the sons of ’Âthâ´m, who by their false wisdom are [being carried] towards the deviating detours of the Fraud.
15. But we should profess the Truth in affectionate love, that in all things we may grow up in Him, Who is the Head: the Anointed One –
16. From Whom all the body is fitted together and united through every supplied joint, according to the amount of gift granted by measure to every single member for the growth of the body, to accomplish its own edification by affectionate love.
Put off the Lie, Speak the Truth
17. ¶ Therefore, I say this, and testify by Yâ-hwéh, that ye should no longer walk about just as the rest of the heathen masses[E23] are also walking about by the uselessness of their intellect,
18. And they have been dimmed in their understanding, being alienated from the Life of Yâ-hwéh, because there is no acknowledgement within them due to the hardness of their heart,
19. Who, having become apathetic, gave their selves up to licentiousness and to work all uncleanness by their avarice. [To the Romans 1: 21-32]
20. But ye did not thus learn the Anointed,
21. If indeed ye have heard Him and were taught within Him, since the Truth is within Yâhuwshúa`;
22. But you should put off your former conduct according to the old son of ’Âthâ´m, who was being corrupted according to the desires of the Delusion,
23. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind:
24. And you should put on the new son of ’Âthâ´m, which was created by Yâ-hwéh within righteousness, and within the correctness of the Truth.
25. Wherefore, having put off the Lie, speak the Truth – each with his neighbor, because we are members of one another.
26. “Become angry, but do not sin;” [Psalms 4: 5]
But do not let the sun set upon your anger;
27. Neither give opportunity to the Accuser.
28. So He who was stealing, let him steal no more [Truth from scripture (ZkharYâ´hu 5: 1-4[E24] )]: but rather let him labor, working what is good with his hands, in order that he may have something to share with him that has a need.*[E25]
Remove corruptions of the Word from your speech, clean up
29. Do not let any corrupt word depart out of your mouth, [compare 3rd commandment and Exodus 23: 13] instead if you say that word which is good towards building up in time of need, say it in order that it may give favor to them that hear.
30. And do not grieve the Spirit of the Pure One of Yâ-hwéh by which ye were sealed unto the Day of Ransoming.
31. Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath and outcry and scorn be removed from you, along with all malignity;
32. And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other just as also Yâ-hwéh by means of the Anointed forgave you.
Chapter 5
1. ¶ Therefore be ye imitators of Yâ-hwéh, as beloved sons,
2. And walk about within affectionate love, just as also the Anointed One affectionately loved us, and gave His Self over for us – an Offering (Qârbâ´n) and a Slaughter (Zévach) to the Mighty One, for a fragrance of a good scent.
3. But do not let fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness even be named among you, just as is proper to pure ones;
4. So obscenities and foolish sayings or filthy joking are inappropriate, instead rather, be giving thanks.
5. For this ye should know, that every male whore or unclean person or covetous person (who is an image worshipper) does not have an inheritance within the Kingdom of the Anointed and the Mighty One.*[E26]
Don’t be cheated out of the Light
6. ¶ Let no one cheat you with empty words[E27] : for due to these things, the wrath of Yâ-hwéh comes upon the sons of rebellious disbelief.
7. Therefore do not be participants[E28] together with them;
8. For ye were once darkness, but now light in Yâ-hwéh, therefore walk about as sons of Light.
9. For the fruit of the Light[E29] is [produced] by all goodness and rectification and Truth,
10. Approving of what is well-pleasing to Yâ-hwéh; [MattithYâ´huw 3: 17, 17: 5, contrast Yshá`Yâhuw 65: 12]
11. So do not become a participant with others in those works of darkness, which bear no fruit, but more readily correct them also,
12. For it is shameful even to say the things being done in secret by them! [illustrated in YchezqË´’l 8: 6-16 ]
13. But all of them, when exposed by the Light, are made apparent: for Light is that which makes everything apparent!
14. Which is why He says:
“Arouse, O sleeper, and rise up from among the dead, and the Anointed One shall shine upon you![E30] ”
15. Therefore beware how exactly ye walk about, not as those unwise, rather as wise ones,
16. Spending the season wisely, because the period is evil.
17. Because of this, do not be unmindful, rather mindful of what is the will of Yâ-hwéh.
Order in the believers’ households
18. So do not be drunk with wine[E31] , in which is abandon, rather be filled by Spirit,
19. Speaking to each other’s selves in sung poems (psalms) and songs of praise and spiritual songs, singing and praising within your heart to Yâ-hwéh;
20. Giving thanks at all times for all men to the Mighty One and Father, by the name of our Sovereign Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed,
21. And be subject to one another by the love[E32] of the Anointed:
22. Wives: submit yourselves to your own husbands, as unto our Sovereign!
23. Because the husband is the head of the woman, as also the Anointed One is Head of the Convocation, and He is the body’s Deliverer.
24. Nevertheless, even as the Convocation is subjected to the Anointed, thus also the women are, to their own husbands in everything. [See warning against end-time female haughtiness, Yshá`Yâhuw 3: 16- 4: 1]
25. Husbands: affectionately love your own wives, just as also the Anointed One affectionately loved the Convocation, and gave His Self over for her,
26. In order that He might purify her, having cleansed her by the washing of the water in the Word[E33] [Yâhuwchânâ´n’s Glad Tidings 15: 3],
27. In order that He might stand her, the Convocation, beside to His Self in honor: not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, instead in order that it may be pure and unblemished.
28. Thus ought those husbands to affectionately love their own women as their own bodies, for he who affectionately loves his own woman loves his self.
29. For no one ever hates his own body, rather nourishes and cherishes it, just as also the Anointed One the Convocation,
30. because we are members of His body, from His flesh and from His bones. [from Genesis 2: 23]
31. “On account of this a man shall leave his father and his mother and he will unite to his woman, and they will be for a flesh united” [Genesis 2: 24]
32. This is a great secret, but I speak about the Anointed and the Convocation.
33. Plus also ye, every one of you, let each affectionately love his own woman as himself; also the woman [should affectionately love her own husband], in order that she may fear the husband[E34] . [1 Këph 3: 2]
Chapter 6
1. Children, obey your parents within Yâ-hwéh, for this is correct.
2. “‘Honor your father and mother’
[just as Yâ-hwéh commanded you…”
(Moshéh speaking)]
(which is the first commandment with a promise:)
3. “‘…In order that your days may be extended’,
and in order that it may be well with you,
‘upon the land that Yâ-hwéh your Mighty Ones is giving to you.’” [Deuteronomy 5: 16]
4. And fathers, do not get enraged with your children, instead raise them up in the education and teaching of Yâ-hwéh.
5. Slaves (Bondmen), obey your masters (sovereigns) (according to flesh) with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart, as to the Anointed, doing the will of Yâ-hwéh from your self,
6. Not with eye-service as pleasers of the sons of ’Âthâ´m, instead as bondmen of the Anointed doing the will of Yâ-hwéh, from your self
7. by love doing them bondservice for Yâ-hwéh, and not for the sons of ’Âthâ´m;
8. Understanding that whatsoever virtue each may have done, that thing shall obtain a reward from Yâ-hwéh, whether he is bondman, or a son of freedom.
9. And those masters (sovereigns), serve your bondservants the same [bondservice for Yâ-hwéh], forgiving them an error[E35] , discerning that your own Sovereign is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him
Knowledge of Yâ-hwéh is our Armament, to survive to and through the Day of Yâ-hwéh
10. ¶ What remains, my brothers, is that ye be fortified in Yâ-hwéh and within the power of His Strength!
11. Put on the full-armor of Yâ-hwéh, for you to be able to stand against the deviating detours[E36] of the Accuser;
12. Because our wrestling is not against blood and flesh! Instead, it is against the chiefs, against the authorities [Phílippos 13-17], against the darkness’s world-rulers of this age, against the spiritual things of the wickedness within those of the highest heavens.
13. Due to this, take up the full-armor of Yâ-hwéh in order that ye may be capable to resist the evil one[E37] on his day, and to be prepared in everything when all things are accomplished[E38] [Dâ´niyyË´’l 11: 36[E39] ], to stand. [Luwqá’ 21: 36]
14. Therefore, stand; having girded your loins about in the Truth[E40] , having put on the breastplate of the Rectification[E41] ,
15. And having shod the feet in the preparation of the Glad Tidings of peace [referring to Yshá`Yâhuw 52: 5-7]
16. Overall, having taken up the shield of the assurance, with which ye will be able to quench all the burning darts of the Wicked one.
17. Also accept the helmet of the Rescue, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Yâ-hwéh,
18. Throughout all praying prayer and supplications in every feast season in the Spirit, and keeping watch for this very thing [the Rescue/Deliverance] in all perseverance and supplications concerning all of the pure ones;
19. Also for me, in order that the Word may be granted to me during the opening of my mouth, to boldly proclaim the secret of the Glad Tidings,
20. For which I am an ambassador in chains, in order that in speaking it I may be bold, as it is necessary for me to speak it.
21. But in order that ye may also understand the things concerning me, and what I am doing, Tuxikós the beloved brother and trustful attendant in Yâ-hwéh will make all things known to you,
22. Whom I dispatched towards you for this very thing, in order that ye might know the things about us[E42] so he might encourage your hearts.
23. ¶ Peace to the brothers, and affectionate love with assurance from Yâ-hwéh: the Father, and our Sovereign Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed.
24. Favor is with all those that affectionately love our Sovereign Yâhuwshúa` the Anointed in incorruption[E43] . ’Âmë´n.
To the ’Epheçíym written from Róma through Tuxikós
[E1]“Within (the) First/Beforehand He-chose the Mighty Ones the heavens and the earth”. In `Ivríyth (Hebrew) this is “B-Rë’shíyth bârâ´ ’Elohíym ’ë´th ha-Shâmáyim w-’ë´th hâ-’´rets”
[E2]The `Ivríyth (Hebrew) word “bârâ´” which means He-created, also means He-chose.
[E3]Corrected due to the Aramaic. The Greek here has a probable scribal error which says: “in which He favored us within the Beloved”.
[E4]These two words found in the Aramaic.
[E5]Apparently from the Greek translation, the `Ivríyth (Hebrew) word here was a derivation of head: “Ró’sh”. Non-literal translation: “all over again”.
[E6]The Greek has here “allotted”. This verse here is referring to Genesis 1: 1 in which the verb create (bârâ´) also means to choose.
[E7]The Aramaic translation says here “those who have life” instead of what the Greek says: “His acquisitions”.
[E8]`Ivríyth (Hebrew) meaning of `Áyin, also seen in ZkharYâ´hu 5: 6. Our body will be full of light if our spiritual source of vision is a clear single one (see MattithYâ´huw 6: 22-23 reference)
[E9]Bnëy in `Ivríyth (Hebrew) comes from the root bânâ´h, to build. Thus this has the additional meaning of “builders of the wrath”.
[E10]Verse 7 makes the future time frame clear, especially considering the presence of the “and” at the beginning of this verb phrase documented in the Aramaic translation, which makes this be a Waw-conversive future-tense verb in the original `Ivríyth (Hebrew). Moreover, we have not already been saved yet.
[E11]Remember as the Kingdom comes here, those envoys of the heavens shall live among us. This translation is backed by scripture (see hyperlinks), whereas the establishment version of us actually going to heaven is unscriptural.
[E12]We are not lawless, rather we are cleared through His shared death from this Law written on stone, to serve by the Spirit the Law written on our hearts because of the new Covenant. See reference.
[E13]This word “heal” is the same word that is found in Yshá`Yâhuw 6: 10 which was denied to Yisrâ’Ë´l by the secret of Yâ-hwéh since they would not return due to their calloused heart, deaf ears, and shut eyes.
[E14]This `Ivríyth (Hebrew) word sounds much like the `Ivríyth (Hebrew) word for ‘the stones of’: “’avnë´y”, leading Páulus to speak of us as living stones being built up for His living temple (House of Yâ-hwéh), as well as us being members of His house.
[E15]“A Stone the builders rejected has come to be for the Chief Cornerstone:”
[E16]The fellowship of the secret is the access to the unsearchable riches of wisdom and knowledge through reverence of His name, as explained in Yshá`Yâhuw 33: 6.

[E20]From the context it is clear this “height” is the summit of the pure mountain, Mount Tsiyyówn! This is where He leads the captivity, not heaven.
[E21]As He is One and we are one in Him, what He gives He also receives in us. This is why Páulus uses the union teaching to explain this verse.
[E22]A surprising revelation that these gifts and abiding shall be indeed even in rebellious believers, that is, name-denying “Christians” who are to be part of the captivity as they are to die.
[E23]The description in the passage here matches the scripture cross-reference in Rómans below, and apparently speaks of name-denying Christians as “heathen masses”!
[E24]“And again I did lift my eyes and I looked, and see! A flying scroll [“the Holy Bible”]. And He asked me: “What are you seeing?” And I answered: “I am seeing a flying scroll, its length is twenty cubits and its width is ten cubits.” And He said to me: “This is the curse going out over the surface of the whole earth, because everyone of the ones THEIVING from this side, according to it, shall be erased; and everyone of the ones filling it in from this other side, according to it, shall be erased. [E25]Why does the subject seem to change? This verse is understandable to be speaking of the same thing, when examined in its context. It speaks of the Truth versus the Lie and alludes to the passage in ZkharYâ´hu about those who steal His name out of scripture. It says to be angry about it, but to not sin, rather to work to make something good to share with those who thirst for the Truth.

[E32]Per the Aramaic translation. The Greek translation which suggests that we be submissive to each other by the “fear of Yâ-hwéh” seems to be an alteration wanting us to submit to establishment ecclesiastical authorities with the same fear we accord to Yâ-hwéh.
[E33]There are some groups which doggedly stick to requiring water immersion for salvation. This phrase says the Word makes us clean by its Living Water. Water immersion is not required for salvation, but this is.
[E34]Fear (“phóbos”, from which comes phobia) remains the best translation of what includes REVERENCE, RESPECT, DEFERENCE, AWE. These are things we are to feel for Yâ-hwéh, just as wives for their husbands (To the ’Epheçíym 5: 22-33, 1 Qorinthíym. 11:3). If the husband is good, and the wife is proper, FEAR won’t be TERROR, ANXIETY, FRIGHT, APPREHENSION, just as we would feel for Yâ-hwéh, if we are rebellious and disobedient.
[E35]This is per the Aramaic translation. The Greek has here “desisting from threatening”, which is true also, but contextually less logical.
[E36]Greek: “methodeias” which comes from meta (accompanying) and odos (way). The Aramaic here may be translated “strategies”. The Accuser’s deviating ways are his strategy to keep the condemnation of the Law in effect through denying us the justification. He is the one who answered “Here I am, send me” in Yshá`Yâhuw 6:8, not Yshá`Yâhuw.
